Creating mindfulness between clinic visits

You have just had a blissful massage and you leave the clinic floating, your body is relaxed and your mind is calm as you enter back into the real world. Suddenly you're back in the car to plan dinner, pick up the kids from school and life picks back up its normal busy pace, that moment of calm is almost a distant memory already.

Creating space in your life for mindfulness between your clinic visits is so important in maintaining a positive state. Below are my tips in maintaining that relaxed state of mind between your appointments.

Journal- Take a few minutes each day to write in a journal. This can be at any time of the day that suits you, first thing in the morning, before bed or when the kids are napping. Take some time to note what you are grateful for, what you want to achieve, what does your dream life look like, how are you FEELING? If you're not sure what to write, Pinterest has some great inspiration!

This time to yourself not only gives you a chance to stop but it allows you to manifest your future and have gratitude for your present life.

Deep breathing- Take moments throughout the day to practise deep breathing. You will be amazed how not only does this calm the mind but the increased oxygen moving through the body is great for your energy levels.

3 big deep breaths

in through your nose

let your belly fill with air, let your shoulders relax

Out through your mouth

Keep hydrated- the simple act of remembering to keep yourself hydrated is a great way to show yourself some self care. Fill up a big drink bottle at the beginning of the day and aim to drink at least 2 litres of water. If you're finding it hard to drink water especially though winter, herbal tea can be a great replacement. One of my favourites is the Strawberry Sunrise by Clean Tea, it's caffeine free and delicious! It helps to enhance brain function and improve the immune system.

Use essential oils- utilising essential oils throughout the day is a great way to keep a calm state of mind. You might like to diffuse a calming blend through your home or use one of our Scentered therapy balms. They are beautiful balms infused with essential oil blends to apply directly to your pulse points. They are the perfect reason to STOP inhale deeply, apply balm and reset your mind.

I hope these tips help you in creating a calm and mindful state between your appointments in the clinic with me. Remember “self care is never selfish”.
